On 26th August, 2019 Somaiya Vidyavihar University became a reality, uniting many of our institutions under one banner. I made a promise to my grandfather, Padma Bhushan K J Somaiya, to transform Somaiya Vidyavihar into a globally sought-after institution. This commitment was our shared dream, exchanged for my opportunity to study at Cornell. Becoming a university is a pivotal step towards fulfilling this ambition. It allows us to chart our unique path in what and how we teach. Our aim is to create a world-class institution dedicated to teaching, research, and service, in line with our founder's vision. We are now on this transformative journey, with many institutions transitioning to university status, all striving for excellence.
